Collagen is a protein of fundamental importance in the formation of the extracellular matrix of connective tissue and is responsible for some of its physical properties.   The term ‘protein’ comes from the Greek word ‘proteios’, meaning ‘the substance of life’. Collagen accounts for 30% of the total protein in the human body. Responsible for normal growth, it ensures the formation of blood, teeth, cartilage, eyes, tendons and ligaments. In the skin, collagen primarily has a structural function. In other words, it ensures the cohesion of the cells. However, studies show that collagen begins to break down as early as the age of 25. From the age of 30, the loss is around 1% per year, and this is progressive. The collagen fibres become increasingly stiff and production is limited. Here is the answer from Prof.Dr. Markus Depfenhart, the developer of DELTA: The concentration in DELTA Retinol TWO is 0.3%. According to EU standards, the maximum amount for a ‘non-peeling’ product. However, the encapsulation technology used makes the product stronger and effective over several days. This makes the product maximally effective with daily use.  DELTA Retinol ONE is slightly lower at 0.2%. However, it works like a 1% retinol product.
