Scar care
Information leaflet on scar care
Dear patients and relatives
If you cut yourself or undergo surgery, it takes a while for the wound to heal and a scar to form. Depending on the cause of the scar and the initial treatment, visible scar tissue develops. It can take up to two years for the skin to return to a reasonably normal state. In the case of burn scars, initial treatment plays a crucial role. Immediate, moderate cooling and the provision of vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene optimise the chances of minimising scar tissue. Third-degree burns are also particularly dangerous because excessive fluid intake can be life-threatening.
With every scar, the skin attempts to heal itself and begins to lose excessive amounts of water. The more water is lost, the more excess collagen is produced. If too much collagen is formed, this causes raised scars or hypertrophic scars, as the collagen attempts to thicken this part of the skin to reduce water loss. If the scar is not treated at all, a keloid scar may form.
If you have suffered from acne, many small scars often remain. These can be improved in all cases once the inflamed skin has calmed down.
Scars never disappear completely, but improving their appearance is important not only for aesthetic reasons but also for medical ones. Although closing the wound is the primary focus during surgery, optimal pre- and post-operative care makes all the difference here too.
We’ll show you how scars, regardless of their origin or age, can be improved. We’ll even show you how to prepare for planned scar areas.
We also give experts a chance to have their say.
Kind regards

Scar I is used after wound closure and is supposed to improve skin renewal in the inflammatory phase. Scar I promotes normal epithelialization, decreases sensitivity and improves skin discoloration. This scar treatment aims to promote normal epithelialization immediately after wound closure by addressing the inflammatory phase. The formulation's ingredients work synergistically to reduce the duration of the inflammatory phase, which can remain uncontrolled and lead to false collagen deposition and scarring. In addition, skin renewal and regular collagen synthesis are enhanced by peptides that promote proper organization of collagen fibers and healthier DEJ. Finally, discoloration and pigmentation as well as possible erythema after wound closure are addressed. active ingredients Tripeptide-10-Citrulline: This matricin peptide promotes the proper organization of collagen fibers, which is essential immediately after wound closure to prevent scarring.Lactococcus ferment lysate: improves the quality and growth speed of the epidermis, improves barrier function and promotes normal epithelialization.Tetrapeptide-30 (PKEK): Helps minimize the prolonged inflammatory response characteristic of scar tissue formation while reducing pigmentation.Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3: Stimulates the production of essential DEJ components to promote normal epithelialization and maturation of granulation tissue.Palmitoylpentapeptide-4: This peptide is known to provide supportive elements to the extracellular matrix and promote wound healing.Hexapeptide-8 and Pentapeptide-18: Proven effectiveness in hydrating the skin and improving firmness, which may help with wound contraction during the healing process.Rosehip Oil: This oil promotes natural skin pigmentation, treats erythema and prevents discoloration.Red Clover Extract and Acetyl-3 Tetrapeptide: This combinatorial agent stimulates hair follicle regeneration and growth after wound closure.Copper Tripeptide: Used in wounds or inflammations to promote healing.Vitamin E: Essential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits in the early stages of wound closure.Encapsulated NAD+ Fragments: Increases intracellular NAD+ for tissue health and regeneration.Silicon: Silicone dressings and creams are known for the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars and for wound healing.applicationApply twice daily or as often as needed. Make sure the wound is healed before using this product. Cover with tape if necessary.

Same formula as SCAR Corrector 100mlScar Phase M (=Mature scar) is intended for scars in the maturation or remodelling phase and should ideally be used after Scar Phase I. Scar Phase M actively promotes correct collagen deposition to reduce scarring, as well as the remodelling of the skin matrix to reduce the appearance of existing scars. Surface renewal of mature scars is addressed with keratolytic agents and probiotics to improve epithelialisation and barrier function. Hair follicles are regenerated to mimic their original state, and pigmentation is reduced through various mechanisms, particularly by controlling inflammation. Tested active ingredients: Tripeptide-10-Citrulline: promotes the correct organisation of collagen fibres. N-acetylglucosamine-6-phosphate and caffeoylglucoside: Promotes the remodelling of skin lesions by activating skin repair mechanisms. Carnitine + Coenzyme Q10: for accelerated regeneration. 1.5% salicylic acid: keratolytic and anti-inflammatory properties. Lactococcus Ferment Lysate: Improves the quality and speed of epidermal growth, thereby enhancing the barrier function and promoting normal epithelialisation. (see before/after image example) Tetrapeptide-30 (PKEK): Minimises the inflammatory response characteristic of scar tissue formation. Simultaneously regulates pigmentation. Hexapeptide-8 and Pentapeptide-18: Proven efficacy in moisturising the skin and improving firmness.Extract of Trifolium pratense (red clover) and acetyl tetrapeptide-3: This combination active ingredient stimulates the regeneration and growth of hair follicles, which are absent in most scar tissue. Very important for scars in the eyebrow and scalp areas.Copper tripeptide: promotes the synthesis of ECM proteins and repair genes.Encapsulated NAD fragments: for intracellular tissue regeneration.

Stretch marks on the breasts and stomach can be prevented, or at least minimised, even during pregnancy. Even after childbirth, this product is 100% safe for both mother and child. The darker the skin, the greater the tendency to develop striae. With this product, you can keep this pigmentation change under control. Stretch marks can also appear on the thighs and stomach following significant weight loss. These light-coloured marks are not only aesthetically unappealing but also provide reduced protection against UV rays. This cream supports the tissue and normalises pigmentation. IMPORTANT; particularly dark-skinned individuals are more prone to stretch marks, known as striae. This cream helps with prevention and reduction. Key ingredients: Palmitoyl hexapeptide-12 is a mixture of fat and amino acids that triggers a reaction in the skin which stimulates collagen and elastin fibroblasts. Ceramide-2 is a waxy lipid that helps your skin retain moisture and prevent the breakdown of collagen, which is an important structural component of your skin. Cocoa butter (together with shea butter) prevents dryness and is a rich source of antioxidants. It soothes and softens the skin. Aloe vera is a common ingredient in skincare products that soothes and moisturises the skin. We use it often because it is a fantastic ingredient. Striae are also atrophic scars They are caused by insufficient formation of connective tissue. The term ‘atrophy’ refers to a process of regression. In the case of atrophic scars, although the wound closes after healing, the skin does not produce enough new connective tissue to fill the wound. This results in sunken scars, the base of which lies deeper than the surrounding skin. These scars are therefore usually flat and appear as small dimples. The wound tends to heal poorly, as the formation of new connective tissue fibres is insufficient. The sunken scar therefore lies below skin level, which is particularly the case with acne scars. Stretch marks in bodybuilders or pregnancy stretch marks are also atrophic scars.
